ON THE SETS OF 'I LOVE STYLE' WITH NEETA LULLA

Neeta Lulla is a real woman! Poised, sophisticated, playful with her daughter, caring and concerned with me and a perfectionist in creativity and business!  This shoot with the Karmik designer was interesting to say the very least! Just when we got started and on a roll, we experienced a power cut that set us back an hour! Out came the tiffins and gossip of what was happening in the world of fashion! Once the power resumed we were back in business with a mission to kill five interviews, five hair and make-up changes and five topics in just a few hours! Lucky for us our director Advait and camera man Bhavesh were seamless pros! It was also our introduction to Aditya Jain from Karmik who was a man on a mission with a plan @ hand! 

 

Neeta Lulla is by far the most concerned and involved designer I've work with! For each of the five looks, she personally styled my hair, make-up and outfit! There wasn't a strand of hair on my head that wasn't accounted for... to the point where Neeta so graciously lent me her hair pieces and hair irons because she wasn't happy with the way my hair was looking with the work done it by the hair stylist. I was so touched and grateful! 

 

The highlight of the day was by far the opportunity to wear the original Aishwariya Rai outfit from Devdas! When I put the petticoat on it reached just below my knees, LOL! As Nishka pointed out to me, either Aishwariya is a lot shorter than me or I'm just gigantic! The sweetest and most quirky thing happened as Neeta put the sari on me! Before she ventured into putting the sari on, Neeta stood behind me and quietly spoke to the sari!!!! She then later explained that this sari has a mind of its own and she often has a tête-à-tête with it so it behaves!! How sweeeeet!! I also believe that inanimate objects have feelings! For real! As we concluded the shoot, Neeta was laughing hysterically at the fact that I kept saying her name in full "Neeta Lulla" and she said this was very South Indian! LOL.
