SHOOTING WITH SWAPNIL SHINDE

The second I saw Swapnil he gave me the biggest hug and we immediately reminisced about the good old days! I remember Swapnil came home once and I had no idea he was over and I walked out in the most unfashionable pink polka-dotted pajamas... it was highly embarrassing! So, seeing him at the I Love Style shoot today I felt awfully bashful.

 

Our director Advait has worked with Swapnil on Lakme Fashion Week at the start of his career and had a lot to catch up on too. This shoot was the way fashion should be! It was edgy, fun and bursting with creativity!! I personally LOVE Swapnil Shinde creations! He's exciting and putting on his clothes makes you feel like you're living a fantasy! Its unreal and uplifting! The themes were Gothic and Music... Fashion and Red Carpet! Swapnil affiliates himself with these topics a lot! The pieces I wore were full of character! A long black Gothic dress had a structured rubber top and flared out from the waist. A red strapless gown burst with a sense of gene e se qua! And a gold-and-beige structured Eighties' short dress inspired by Sri Devi in 'Nagina'.

 

It was interesting to hear how he LOVES Sridevi (ME TOO!!) and we had a ball talking about 'Nagina' and 'Chandni' and of course 'Mr. India'! A lot of his fashion is inspired by Sridevi, and especially 'Nagina'! Swapnil is a name spreading like wildfire and it's amazing how just three years down the track and mostly by word of mouth he's become insanely popular! Of all the designers I've worked with so far, Swapnil has been the most patient despite having a very late night the night before! For me, this was a shoot of pure admiration for a man whose creativity is just evolving and evolving... sigh! A shoot with a friend is always therapeutic for the soul!
