ON THE SETS WITH SHANTANU AND NIKHIL

This interview came straight after 24-hours of no sleep and back-to-back interviews! I was exhausted to say the very least but the second I reached the beautiful flagship of the Karmik designer duo, the energy just pumped right into me! These two brothers are kings of charm and eloquence! I've known S & N for years now! In fact, I had met Nikhil the very hour I had landed in Mumbai 4 years ago with mutual friend Mukul Dev! Nikhil has since become one of my best friends here in India!

 

So, straight off the bat I knew this wasn't going to be a normal interview but rather a chat with friends. Without sounding too blasé, Shantanu and Nikhil are dream designers! They themselves are so, so stylish and have that class about them that spells out prestige. Their collections are always innovative, sensuous and a perfect blend of vintage India and modernity! I love their drapes and cocktail and red carpet wear! Oh la la, I'm sincerely humbled by their talent here! AMAZING!

 

If you've seen the modern bride with S & N then you know what I'm talking about! That coral gown... I did not want to take it off!! Breath taking! And the bronze ankle length gown on our "bring the bling" section... WOW!! Besides the magnificence of the clothes, this shoot was a behind the scenes comedy show!! We were in such stitches of laughter that it took us a literal 20-minutes to compose ourselves! The I Love Style crew had to patiently wait for Nikhil and I to stop our irrepressible laughter in the "Up Top and Personal" episode for 20-minutes!! It was insane! Nikhil would compose himself and then I'd start laughing... I'd compose myself then he'd start laughing! Then we'd both be ok for 2 minutes & Shantanu would start! We just could not get it together!

 

And the reason for the laughter??? I blame it all on Nikhil, being the incredibly cheeky Gemini that he is, he kept making very amusing comments about me on camera much to my embarrassment! And in the "Modern Bride" episode, S&N made it a point to advertise my single status for potential grooms-to-be out there! It was all very funny to shoot! S & N, as always, made it an absolute pleasure to shoot with and my love affair with their creations and vivacious intelligent personalities is one that keeps growing deeper and deeper! I LOVE Shantanu and Nikhil!!!
